
Celebrating Ṣàngó and Ọya at Ganlodo

This weekend we honor and celebrate the deities 𞥃𞤢𞤲𞤺𞤮 Ṣàngó and 𞤽𞤴𞤢 Ọ̀ya at the Maroons monarchy of 𞤺𞤢𞤲𞤤𞤽𞤣𞤮 Gànlɔdó! Ṣàngó is the ultimate deity of justice, thunder, lightening, manhood, kingship (government), intellect, Lord of thunder, and that entity which demands truth. Ọ̀ya is the mother of the Egúngún masquerade, mother of mine, deity of change, warrior leader, warrior queen, mother of justice, mother of all winds (mildest to strongest), represented by thunder, tornadoes and hurricanes. Ọ̀ya is actually the thunder (caused by the wind) that precedes lightening. Today let's enjoy the power that these great deities bestow upon our process of ReAfrikanization!
